Abstract

Analyzing the distribution of air pollution and the factors affecting it is essential for the prevention and control of air pollution. The purpose of this research is to investigate the temporal-spatial distribution of air pollution and its relationship with climatic variables in the Mazandaran area for the years 2018 to 2022 by remote sensing method. The temporal and spatial distribution of air pollution was estimated daily, monthly, seasonally and annually using the TROPOMI in the GEE environment. Spatial analysis showed that the highest amount of air pollution in the studied period was in the east of Mazandaran and at altitudes of zero to 500 meters. Analysis of the change point was performed by the Petit homogeneity test method. The results showed that the concentrations of CO, O3 and SO2 gases have a significant decrease in some months. But the average amount of NO2 in October 2020 has been significant at the level of 0.05. Finally, by examining the Pearson it was determined that the number of hours of sunshine with a coefficient between 0.5 and 0.8 is the most effective climate component on air pollution. As a result, meteorological factors directly and indirectly affect the temporal-spatial distribution of air pollution.
